Brief Biography:
Originally from New Jersey and moving to Ohio in 2011, David started his career in the Emergency Services field. After moving to Ohio, he went back to school to get his bachelor’s degree in business administration and worked in several different leadership positions. During COVID, the company he worked for shut down, and he was asked by the principal at his children’s school if he would be interested in becoming a long-term substitute. In 2023, he and his family moved to Marietta, OH where he was hired to teach first grade. After a year of teaching, he was asked to move into an administrative position where he is still currently holding the position of Assistant Head of School.
What brought you to Hillsdale?
Not having an upbringing in classical education and being hired by a classical school to teach and be an administrator, I felt that it was a great opportunity to go to Hillsdale for a graduate degree to learn more about classical education. The school I currently work for is a Hillsdale curriculum school, and I felt it would help me understand the curriculum better for my day-to-day responsibilities.
What has been the thing you’ve appreciated most about your time here?
Since I started Hillsdale, the thing I have appreciated most is the relationship with the professors and Hillsdale staff. Unlike other colleges that treat you like a number, the Hillsdale team wants to know who they are teaching, the students’ strengths and weaknesses, and why they are pursuing a degree at Hillsdale.
