Brief Biography:

‍Jack was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. He attended Hillsdale College, graduating in 2013 with a degree in Economics. He returned to his hometown in 2014 to work in the insurance industry. In 2019, he and his wife helped to found Cedar Classical Academy in Lansing, Michigan. He has served as the Head of School at Cedar Classical Academy from its founding until now. He is married to Caroline Hummel, and they have four children together.

Post-Graduation Plans:

‍I plan to remain in my position at Cedar Classical Academy and help lead the school to institutional maturity.

Extracurricular Academic Activities:

‍I enjoy the great outdoors–hunting, hiking, fishing, and sailing–especially when I get to enjoy it with my family.

What brought you to Hillsdale?

‍I was attracted to the MCEL program because of the quality of the faculty. Learning is too valuable to waste under poor teachers.

What has been the thing you’ve appreciated most about your time here?

‍The seriousness of the other students in the program. They are here to grow and are not afraid to try.
