Hillsdale College

William “G.” Allen

Entrance Term: Summer 2025

B.A. in Philosophy

Ouachita Baptist University

Brief Biography:

William grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Ouachita Baptist University. Unsure of his next steps after graduation, he providentially landed a teaching job at his former high school (Little Rock Christian Academy) where he now teaches Philosophy and Theology to 11th and 12th graders. Although unexpected, William fell in love with teaching from day one and knew he wanted to dedicate his life to the advancement of Christian education. Fueled by this passion, he began searching for graduate programs and enrolled in Hillsdale’s Master in Classical Education Leadership program in the summer of 2025.

Post-Graduation Plans:

After graduating, my plans are manifold. First, I would like to use my training at Hillsdale to become the best classroom teacher I can be. Second, I have the dream of starting a classical Christian school in the central Arkansas area. I know that my education at Hillsdale will equip me with the skills to accomplish both of these goals.

What brought you to Hillsdale?

I have known about Hillsdale since high school and interacted with some of their online content. Once I realized I had a passion for teaching, I almost simultaneously discovered classical education. My newfound passion then had a conduit in which it could be channeled. When I began searching for graduate programs in classical education, applying for Hillsdale, a preeminent classically oriented institution, was a no-brainer. I was thrilled to be accepted and have eagerly pursued my studies. I am so grateful to be a part of the MCEL program.
