Brief Biography:

Felipe Trebilcock is married and the father of two boys. He grew up in Santiago, Chile, where he received all his education. Felipe was raised in a family with six brothers and attended an all-boys Catholic school. He graduated with a philosophy degree from the Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago, Chile, and later studied to become a Catholic religion teacher. He has served as a schoolteacher for five years in two different schools.
Currently, while studying in the classical education program at Hillsdale, Felipe has received a fellowship from the Thomas More Center, where he assists with Spanish translations and conference planning for various projects in Latin America.

What Brought You to Hillsdale?

My interest in joining Hillsdale College is to improve my understanding of our tradition and to enrich myself as a teacher. I want to be able to properly serve my community in the education of our children. I seek to acquire additional tools to better serve and guide the parents and students under my care.

Research Interests:

Thomas More, Thomas Aquinas, classical education, education and virtues, education in Christianity.

What Has Been the Thing You’ve Appreciated Most About Your Time Here?

What I have most appreciated is the great quality of the classes, the personal and friendly treatment from the professors, and the company of my fellow classmates.

Post-Graduation Plans:

Upon the completion of my master’s degree at Hillsdale, I am committed to returning to secondary school to serve as a teacher of philosophy and Catholic religion. Looking ahead, irrespective of my professional position, my main goal is to serve the communities in which I am entrusted with educating their children. I aspire to contribute to shaping individuals into devout Christians with a vision of liberal education.
